Questo è decisamente l'anno di Mark Rylance: il 56enne attore inglese ha conquistato un Bafta 216 (British Television Academy Award) per la sua interpretazione nella serie tv Wolf Hall, che è stata anche premiata come Miglior serie drammatica.
Rylance, che si era aggiudicato anche l'Oscar 2016 come Miglior attore non protagonista per il suo ruolo nel film Il ponte delle spie, non è comunque l'unica star della serie: interpreta infatti Thomas Cromwell alla corte di Enrico VIII d'Inghilterra, ma a dare volto al re è Damian Lewis, mai dimenticato protagonista di Homeland.
